Sis Margaret A. Corbett

On Friday, January 31, 2025 from 5:00 pm “ 7:00 pm will be the viewing of Sis. Margaret A. Corbett (member) at SBC Main Sanctuary. She is survived by a host of family and friends. On Saturday, February 1, 2025 the homegoing celebration will be at 1:00 pm for Sis. Margaret A. Corbett (member) in the main sanctuary. Paradise Funeral Home has the body. Pastor Jackson will render the word of comfort; and there will be a burial at Graceland Cemetery. Margaret A. Corbett, daughter of Richard and Margaret Williams, was born on August 17, 1941, in Coconut Grove, Florida. Known lovingly as Sista, Titta, MAC, Nana, Gramps, and Big Nana,

Margaret dedicated her life to her family, faith, and community. Margaret's educational journey began in Coconut Grove, where she attended George W. Carver Elementary, Junior, and Senior High Schools, and Middleton Senior High in Tampa, Florida. After high school, she returned to Coconut Grove, where she worked as a Medical Assistant and later as a Medical Secretary/Office Manager at Grove Medical Center. Her passion for learning led her to pursue higher education, and she earned an AA in Business Administration from Miami Dade College she began a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and she later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Specific Learning Disabilities from Florida

Memorial College. Margaret's career in education began in 1988 with the Miami Dade County Public School system at Richmond Elementary School. Margaret dedicated over 20 years to teaching Exceptional Students, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those she served. Outside of education, Margaret nurtured her love for ceramics by attending Duncan University, where she became a certified ceramic

teacher and started her own business, MAC's Ceramic.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Margaret was deeply involved in her community. She was an active member of the George W. Carver Alumni Association, the Victorious Matured Singles group, the Floral Committee at Second Baptist Church, the Joint Alumni Coalition of Miami- Dade County, and the Richmond Heights Red Hat Society. She enjoyed photography, sewing, cooking, reading, and traveling, and found joy in sending out daily inspirational messages and greeting cards. Margaret was also an avid football fan and cherished watching her beloved Raiders

play. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Williams; her daughter, Margaret Altamease "Measie" Corbett; her granddaughter, LaKeisha Abraham; her sisters, Joan Ambrister, Edna Stamps, Leila Mae Collier, Lorena Williams, Lexie Taylor; her brothers, Richard

Williams Jr. and Leo Williams Sr.; and her son-in-law, Gregory Banes. She leaves behind her children: Earlene, Lawrence "Larry" (Lory), and Antoinette "Toni"; grandchildren: Lawrence "Lil Larry" (Janell), Kenesha, Kendra, Tiara, Kendia, and Shavon; great- grandchildren: Kymani, Jaylen, Landen, Kennadi, Mason, and Janiyah. Margaret is also survived by her sister, Nancy Brewton; her brother, Hiram Williams (Dianne); and extended family: Brenda (James) Washington and family, Lawrencina "Cina" Frederick (Darryl) and family, Anthony "Bud" Corbett (Tyneisha) and family. She also leaves behind her bonus daughters, Diane Pruitt and Carolyn Scales, bonus grandchild: Frederique Scales, as well as godchildren: Altamese Love, Tasha Dallas, and Farrand Clarke (Cynthia). Margaret is also survived by a host of nieces,

nephews, relatives, and friends. Margaret's warmth, kindness, and love will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves a lasting legacy of service, faith, and family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched

by her life. Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.
